Great Britain’s Amy Tinkler announced yesterday that she had undergone a third operation on her ankle, this time in the Spanish capital. After sustaining a ligament injury while warming up for the Birmingham World Cup last March, Tinkler had surgery and missed the rest of the season, but required a follow-up surgery in October to remove the scar tissue which was thought to be causing pain and restricting movement in her ankle. She revealed that this had also been unsuccessful and that during her latest operation, it was discovered that the deltoid ligament was attached to the bone. With this issue now resolved, Tinkler feels hopeful about starting rehab and aiming for a comeback before the end of the year. We wish her the best!
